Mussar for Modern Life

This course was offered in Winter/Spring, 2018.

Are you counting the Omer this year? Did you know that counting the Omer is a way of doing the inner work necessary to ready ourselves to receiving wisdom? It’s a lot like Mussar. Join our Mussar for Modern Life group during this special time of year as we take a deeper dive into navigating our spiritual landscapes in a practical way. Become a more awake, more open, and better version of yourself. No prior experience is necessary. All are welcome

Mussar is a centuries-old Jewish system of character development that has regained popularity as a spiritual practice in our modern age. Through interactive exercises, text study, contemplative practices, writing and discussion, this class will explore some core middot (virtues, like patience, forgiveness, etc) and provide tools and frameworks to help us deal more effectively with challenging situations we face in our every day lives. By using these tools we will improve our relationships with ourselves and others.
