Learn to Chant High Holy Day Trope

Would you like to learn the special melody for the chanting of Torah on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur? If you already know how to chant Torah or Haftarah trope, it is easy to learn the melody for the High Holy Days. If you are new to trope, all you need is a basic Hebrew reading ability. Learn to chant High Holy Day trope, and prepare to read at this year’s services!

Rabbi Laurence Elis Milder

Rabbi Laurence Elis MilderRabbi Milder earned his B.A. and Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University, and was ordained at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Rabbi Milder has pursued dual careers in the rabbinate and in academia, serving as an assistant professor at the University of Maine, and currently as the rabbi of Congregation Beth Emek in Pleasanton, CA. Rabbi Milder composes and performs Jewish folk music, and his songs are popular in youth groups and summer camps throughout North America. He is married to Janet Elis Milder and they have three children.
