Biblical and Prayerbook Hebrew

The course is designed for those who want to learn Hebrew by studying the Siddur סידור (prayer book) in its original authentic language. Learn to translate and form commentaries based on the root of the Hebrew words for the purpose of gaining a deep understanding and meaning from the text. The Hebrew with Tikva™ method helps students comprehend prayer book text from its classical Hebrew source.

Students will: study classical Hebrew language from selected prayers; learn root words and their various applications; gain a deeper understanding of Prayer book Hebrew; differentiate the literal meaning form the deeper hidden meaning; participate in discussions to meaningfully deepen your experience of life and Judaism; and improve Hebrew reading skills.

Tikva Farber Tikva Farber is a Hebrew and Judaic Studies teacher with over 20 years experience teaching adults, teens, and children of all ages in Biblical, Prayerbook, and Modern Hebrew. She is certified by the Israel Ministry of Education and is currently on the Congregation Kol Shofar Beit Binah faculty.
