Advanced Biblical Hebrew 3: Chronicles vs. Kings: What's the Difference? (Spring)

This course is no longer offered.

Our Bible has two 'official histories': Chronicles and Samuel-Kings. Some passages are, verbatim, the same. Others are radically different, and there are swathes of material that appear in Chronicles, but not Kings, and vice versa. Why? Our class will seek out the common ground and the differences, translating passages that highlight the messages of these texts, and the perspectives of the writers.

Our course will use Bibleworks, the latest in digital Biblical Hebrew research technology. The passages we will translate will be compared in their Hebrew, Septuagint Greek and Latin Vulgate versions, all projected on a large screen in digital video.
