Rabbi Laurence Elis MilderRabbi Milder earned his B.A. and Ph.D. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University, and was ordained at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Rabbi Milder has pursued dual careers in the rabbinate and in academia, serving as an assistant professor at the University of Maine, and currently as the rabbi of Congregation Beth Emek in Pleasanton, CA. Rabbi Milder composes and performs Jewish folk music, and his songs are popular in youth groups and summer camps throughout North America. He is married to Janet Elis Milder and they have three children.
