Kim grew up very active in the Jewish community—from Hebrew School to camp to youth groups and living in Israel as a teen. She remains active in the Jewish community through her synagogue and through speaking in the Jewish Community about racial diversity and her experience dealing with insensitive and racist questions and comments from others in the community. She has designed her workshop to be a safe space for people to talk about their experiences trying to "fit in" in the Jewish community. Professionally, Kim is the Assistant Director of a large labor union that represents public employees.
