Deena Aranoff – Deena Aranoff is assistant professor of medieval Jewish studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. She teaches courses on Jewish society and culture in the medieval and early-modern periods. Her interests include rabbinic literature, medieval patterns of Jewish thought and the broader question of continuity and change in Jewish history. Deena is also a community educator, teaching Bible, Rabbinics and Jewish mysticism in a variety of adult education programs, most notably in the Wexner Heritage Program, the Tauber Jewish Studies program at Temple Emanuel and at the JCCSF. Deena is also a recently certified yoga instructor and has begun to teach yoga in San Francisco.
